New Addition on the Way

It's been a long road, but Aaron and I are happy to announce we'll expecting a new addition to our family this December. We thought we would wait a couple years after Conner to start trying for another child. However, after a couple years, lots of heart ache, and with the help of modern science, we were finally successful. I hope we can add pink to the mix this time, but honestly I'll be happy either way, as long as we have a healthy baby.

Spring Update

It has been a whirlwind few months. I've had a couple events since January, the Heroes of Hope event in February, and the Healthy Zone School launch event in March. I've also secured our first major event partnership with the Dallas Cup. My position is two fold, coordinate special events/projects and increase awareness of United Way through public events, such as major sporting events. I've been here at United Way for 9 months already, how time flies.

Aaron celebrated is 41st birthday on March 11th. Unfortunately the same day, my car was totaled, so we didn't get to do much celebrating. The car accident was not my fault, however, it has been a pain to deal with. I'm still working on settling everything with the insurance company.

Conner has taken some interest recently in drawing. He loves to color at school, home and in the car. Everything he draws seems to have some type of weapon in it, a sword, a gun, etc. Must be a boy thing. He also took an interest in wearing a tie and belt to school. Monday's are now his tie day.

Better in 2011

I've decided to get back to blogging. I didn't do well in 2010 keeping up with the Boatwright Family, so this year I'll do better.

Christmas was such fun this year! Conner could not wait for Santa to come. Each day he moved the teddy bear on the advent calendar to watch the days get closer and closer. Every day on the way to school, he would say, "is today Christmas?". Santa was very good to him this year, bringing Legos, Hot Wheels, Dinosaur Train Buddy & Tiny , remote control digger, and some new clothes. Santa was also very good to mommy and daddy. Daddy received a new welding helmet, key chain pocket knife and Texas State University shirt. Mommy received some new perfume and a beautiful diamond necklace that Conner selected.

We did our usual Christmas rounds starting with the Boatwright get together, dinner at my aunt's with Mama, and then Christmas Eve with Aaron's Dad and Cowley family. Christmas Day we woke the little guy up around 8 am to let him know Santa had come. We spent time opening gifts and playing before our lunch guests arrived. We had a full house with my parents, Aunt Glenda, and the Bacons for turkey dinner.

Aaron was off two weeks for the Holiday break, and I was able to flex my schedule and take some vacation days and work from home so we had a nice little break before 2011.

We kept it low key on New Year's Eve, watching the count downs on TV. We finally all tucked into bed around 11:45 pm and then watched the final count down, said goodnight around 12:05 in the new year and quickly all fell asleep.
