My New Favorite Thing

Conner's new thing is to put things on his hands and walk around. It entertains him for hours and it doesn't matter what it is, my house shoes have been the most fun, however he enjoys the pot holders as well. Conner loves his bath time as well and I think his goal is to get us and everything in the bathroom wet.

Daddy's Boots

Conner loves to play with Daddy's boots which are about half the size of him. Since he loves them so much we decided to let him try them on.

Hillary Rally

For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Hillary Clinton supporter. So I was super excited to find out last night that they would be holding a rally in Oak Cliff this morning. I called my boss last night and rearranged some meetings so I could attend this once in a lifetime opportunity. I set out of the house with Aaron on Conner duty at 6:30 am. I made my way to Oak Cliff and stood in the freezing temperatures to see her. She arrived around 9:30, made a great speech and energized the crowd of about 500. I was only able to snap a few pictures before my camera batteries died. I made friends with the person standing next to me and I am hoping he will share his pictures with me. When I arrived at work, I heard the tragic news of the officer who died in the motorcade escorting Hillary to the Oak Cliff rally. Hillary cancelled her rally in Ft. Worth and went to the hospital to be with the officers family. This is a day I will not soon forget. - Melody

With the Presidential Primary just 12 days away, the candidates have descended upon Dallas. One of my friends at work is an Obama fan and had the great pleasure of seeing Obama speak yesterday at Reunion Arena along with Emmitt Smith. She also met a local morning news anchor for Channel 8, Justin Farmer. - Melody

Appreciation Lunch a Success!

Today was my first Appreciation Lunch to coordinate for the Center. We had about 300 attendees which included: staff at the center, public officials, community businesses and people working on behalf of abused children in the community. Everything went off without a hitch. I had lots of great comments on the menu, which was - pan seared chicken with pasta and vegetables, salad and chocolate decadent cake. I would have to say the dessert was by far the best part and all I had time to eat during the event. I'm excited that I've completed one more event and I am looking forward to the grand daddy of them all - the gala in April where we will play host to 1100 guests.

Celebration Park

We took Conner to our favorite park in Allen today, Celebration Park. Please note the awesome rock shirt and shoes from Stacy - he was the most styling kid there!

Sunday - February 10, 2008

Yesterday, Conner and I went to the park and he saw his first horse. Only in Texas - right? More specifically in Rowlett. He really enjoys going to the park. He doesn't neccesarily play on the toys but prefers to just walk around and follow his shadow. The weather is beautiful, so how could you resist not going outside.
